STUDENTS SHOULD APPLY NOW FOR UFCW COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The UFCW is about workers coming together to build better lives for themselves.  It is about creating opportunity. This is why the UFCW International Union has administered a college scholarship program for over 45 years, allowing it to support higher education for both its members and their families. Over the years, the scholarship program has evolved to meet the changing needs of our membership, and has been particularly embraced by our younger members as the cost of college keeps growing.

For 2012, applications will be accepted online through April 12th, for students who are graduating in the Spring of 2012, or who have received their GED. These programs offer a tremendous value for younger workers, and Local 880 will be providing a  number of scholarships to members and their families through the program. To apply, read the Procedures thoroughly at http://www.ufcw.org/scholarship/ and then complete the UFCW Scholarship Application online.

The application requires you to fill out a family profile, list school activities, awards, and your work experience, and completion of an essay. As always, The scholarship recipients will be selected and awards made on the basis of several factors including scholastic achievements, community involvement and an essay which shows an understanding of the principles of the labor movement.

DON’T WAIT...APPLY TODAY!
